Calydon

Calydon was a city in ancient Greece, and a place that appears in various myths. It was located in the region of Aetolia, and took its name from its founder, Calydon. The Mount Arakynthos was close to the city, and it was the area where the hunt of the Calydonian Boar took place. In Calydon, there was the Laphrion, a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Artemis and her twin brother Apollo.
